Choosing an SEO Agency in Egypt: What You Get

SEO is the easiest service in this market to sell badly, because results arrive slowly and the work is invisible to the client. That combination lets a weak agency invoice for months before anyone can tell. Here is what the work actually consists of, so you can tell the difference in the first meeting rather than the sixth month.

The four parts of real SEO work

PartWhat it meansHow you verify it happened
TechnicalCrawlability, speed, indexing, structured data, correct canonicals and hreflangAsk for before/after on page speed and the count of indexed pages
ContentPages that answer real queries, in the language your buyer searches inCount of pages shipped, and which query each one targets
Internal structureStrong pages linking to the pages that need to rankA map of which pages link where
AuthorityCitations, listings, mentions, genuine linksA list of where you now appear that you did not before

An agency doing only the first part is doing an audit, not SEO. An agency doing only the second is running a blog. The four parts compound; missing one holds the others back.

Timelines you should expect

Technical fixes can show within weeks: a page that was blocked becomes a page that is indexed, and impressions follow. Content takes a month or two per page to settle into a position. Authority is the slowest of all and the hardest to fake.

Three to six months before meaningful movement on competitive terms is the honest range. Local and long-tail terms move faster, which is why a sensible plan starts there: early wins fund the patience the bigger terms need.

Egypt-specific realities

Two things change the shape of the work in this market. First, your buyers search in a mixture of Arabic, transliterated Arabic and English, and an English-only site simply cannot rank for the Arabic half of that demand. An Arabic version is not a translation task — it is half the available traffic.

Second, local intent dominates. A large share of valuable searches carry a neighbourhood with them, which makes the Google Business Profile and well-built location pages worth more than a national content strategy for most businesses. Spend there first; national terms are a later, longer project.

How to read an SEO report

Ask for Search Console data, not a dashboard built by the agency. The numbers that matter are impressions, clicks and average position, broken down by query group rather than totalled. A total can rise because you started ranking for your own brand name, which proves nothing about the work.

  • Queries, not sessions. What people actually typed tells you whether the right audience is arriving.
  • Position bands. How many terms sit in positions 1–3, 4–10 and 11–20. The third band is your pipeline for next quarter.
  • Pages that lost ground. A report that never contains bad news is a sales document.
  • What shipped. A specific list of pages and fixes, with dates.

The promises that should end a meeting

  1. Guaranteed position one. Impossible, and everyone who says it knows that.
  2. "We will submit your site to 500 directories." A 2010 tactic that now ranges from useless to harmful.
  3. A fixed number of backlinks per month. Links are earned or placed; a quota means they are bought, and bought links are the most common cause of a manual penalty.
  4. "We will publish 30 articles a month." Volume without substance is the exact pattern Google demotes sites for. We learned this the hard way on this very site.
  5. No access to your own Search Console. The data is yours. An agency that will not add you is managing your expectations, not your SEO.

What the budget buys at each level

Our published range is 20,000–37,000 EGP a month. At the lower end the work is concentrated: technical health, a handful of priority pages, local presence, and a small content flow. At the upper end it includes continuous content production in two languages, deeper internal structure work and ongoing authority building. Neither is a different quality of thinking — it is a different quantity of hours.

If the budget is below that range, local SEO alone is the honest recommendation: a properly built Google Business Profile, consistent listings, real reviews and two or three strong local pages. It is a smaller field with a much better chance of winning.

What you should own

Three things must be in your name from the first day: Google Search Console, Google Analytics, and the domain registration itself. Agencies change; a site whose own performance data lives in someone else's account loses its history at the handover, and history is most of what makes SEO decisions possible.

One thing to fix before hiring anyone

Have someone check whether your important pages are actually indexed, and whether your content is visible to a crawler rather than rendered only in the browser. We have fixed both on client sites and on this one. A site that looks fine to a visitor and empty to Googlebot cannot be rescued by any amount of content, and it costs nothing to check. What our own SEO work covers is on the SEO page.

If you want a straight read on your current state before spending anything, send us the domain — the technical part of an audit is quick, and the answer is sometimes that you need three fixes rather than a retainer.

FAQ

Quick answers.

01How much does SEO cost in Egypt?

Our published SEO management is 20,000–37,000 EGP per month. The range reflects site size and how much content production is included, not a difference in how hard anyone works.

02How long before SEO produces results?

Three to six months for meaningful movement on competitive terms, faster on long-tail and local queries. Crawling, indexing and trust run on their own clock and no budget shortens it much.

03Can an agency guarantee first place?

No. Nobody controls Google's ranking systems, and a guarantee of position one is the clearest signal in this market that you are talking to the wrong agency.

04What should be in a monthly SEO report?

Impressions and clicks by query group, positions for the terms you agreed to target, what shipped this month, what did not work, and the next month's plan. Traffic charts with no query detail hide more than they show.

05Is SEO worth it for a small business?

Local SEO almost always is, because a Google Business Profile and a handful of well-built local pages compete on a much smaller field. National rankings in a competitive category are a longer, more expensive project.
