Meta ad benchmarks by industry in Egypt

“Is my cost-per-result good?” depends entirely on your industry. Here’s how to read your numbers honestly.

The single most common question in any performance review is: “Is this number good?” The only honest answer is “compared to what?” A 10 EGP lead is excellent for real estate and expensive for a low-ticket product. Benchmarks only mean something inside their industry.

Why benchmarks vary so much

Cost-per-result is driven by three things: how much a customer is worth, how competitive the auction is, and how strong your creative and offer are. A real-estate lead can justify a higher cost because one sale is worth a fortune; an impulse retail purchase cannot.

What we actually see

Across our campaigns in Egypt and the Gulf, the pattern is consistent:

  • Medical & aesthetics — qualified leads around 1.74 EGP when targeting and creative are tight.
  • Retail / e-commerce — conversations near 1.13 EGP; orders scale with catalog ads.
  • Real estate — qualified leads in the 10 EGP range, and worth every piaster.
  • Automotive — thousands of conversions at a stable cost when the funnel is built right.
A ‘good’ cost-per-result is one your unit economics can afford — nothing else.

How to read your own numbers

Start from what a customer is worth to you. That number sets the ceiling for what a result can cost. If you’re under it and profitable, you’re winning — regardless of what a blog benchmark says. If you don’t know your customer value, that’s the first thing to fix.

Real numbers: we publish actual cost-per-result data from our own campaigns across 8 industries in Egypt and the Gulf — cost per lead, per conversation, per click, all from published case studies rather than estimates.

FAQ
What's a good cost per lead in Egypt?

There's no universal number — it depends entirely on what a customer is worth to you. A 50 EGP lead is excellent for real estate and terrible for a low-margin product. Benchmarks are a sanity check, not a target.

Why is my cost higher than the benchmark?

Usually creative, not the platform. Benchmarks average across accounts with wildly different creative quality, offers, and landing pages. Before blaming the auction, check whether your ad actually stops the scroll.
